  1. As long as you make sure it's clean, it shouldn't. In between cleanings, if it smells a bit, then you can try to figure out where she peed and replace that bedding. (Mine always went in the same corner.)

  2. no

  3. Generally no. Normally they will go to the bathroom in one corner of the cage. Every morning or two spot clean used areas and replace with new bedding and then clean it good every couple of weeks.

  4. It all depends on how often you clean up after them. If you do it regularly, then they do not stink

  5. Well, it's not gonna smell like a rose garden

  6. no but if it does start to smell clean it out but if it dont only clean it once a week hope this helped!!!!! =)

  7. Hi Joe,

Dwarf hamsters are very clean animals, they groom themsevles like more than half of the time they are awake.

It is not the dwarf itself that smells, but their bodywaste, Mostly their pee. If you change their entire cage once a week you should normally only start to smell their wate on day 5, but it could be sooner. If you notice they are usind one section of their cage you can clean that out more often. Remember, if you change their bedding to often, they can get stressed. So to answer your question directly, once a week is good, but you may start to smell it before that. Hope this was helpful!=)

  8. unless you have 45 of them no,

seriously i have 4 dwarf hamsters in one cage (well two cages connected) and i clean the cage about once every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. if you get one or two (hopefully more then one) cleaning the cage once a week is more then enough to keep oder down. dwarf hamsters just don't smell make big messes that smell bad.

    mice smell a lot worse.
