Hey emo, I think it is related to the type of relation the married couple have. Some will hide basic info like that from their spouse and others are open and honest about it. If the relation is based on trust there is no reason to hide anything. I know every detail about hubby's finances as he does about my now non existing finances! :D

Personally, I heard about a wife who hides her money from her hubby because he expects her to spend it on the home ... he does not contribute a cent unless she is totally broke! So in this case I think she has a right to keep her own money away from him!

it's quite like marrying another woman , if his wife found that he got this secret bank account , it's the garbage bags time (Akyas Soda) :-P

i know a guy who don't even tell his wife how much his salary is and he keeps every financial issue out of her reach , he is afraid to get divorced and , you know , first thing women look for after divorce is ..... Moneyyyyyy and lots of money :-)

Eman a little bit of secret is acceptable in a marriage as long as it doesn't affect the other spouse negatively and it won't hurt them or hurt their relationship.

It's his money and he is entitled to do whatever he pleases with it so opening a second secret account is actually not such a bad secret to have, he has more financial stability to take care of himself and his responsibilities towards his family.

I am sure that not all husbands keep secret accounts. But I know some who probably do. what i think is really silly is when they lie about an extra 100 pounds from the work bonus, but you are the one who pays their credit card bills from the joint income. Anyone that has seen a credit statement knows that it says what the available balance is...but why would the same man try to hide 100 le?? Then again I once spoke to a woman who lost 200 $ gambling (no she wasn't muslima), then hid her dumb idea from her husband, but thought her husband didn't have a right to be mad when he found out the truth....

it goes both ways sometimes.
