Do Employers have access to your employment record?

For example, if I went to a job interview, does the employer that I'm interviewing for have a way of viewing what jobs I worked before? If so, does viewing my employment record influence there decision if they want to hire me or not?

  1. They have your resume and they have your credit report, which lists what companies you worked for and their address, but not your title.

They call the HR departments and verify dates of employment, rates of pay, title and reason for leaving.   A common question is also, "would you hire them again if they were to apply?"

Your past experience and performance are just as important as your education.
