Question:

Do England have what it takes to beat Croatia in Zagreb?

I believe we will beat Andorra for sure, but I cannot see England leaving Zagreb with 3 points. A point would be a brilliant result.

I don't understand, like the whole world, why Owen wasn't picked. I guess we have to rely on a midfield consisting of...Beckham, Lampard, Joe Cole and....Jenas? Bullard? It's not good enough. And why Heskey is in and Crouch isn't is beyond me.

England need to have a fully fit defence and a good goalkeeping performance from James, otherwise, I see us watching 2010 on the Tele like we did with the Euros.

Anyone else agree?

  1. totally with you mate

    im pissed about owen

  2. England will easily win 3-0

  3. Croatia is without Eduardo and Kranjcar, England will be more motivated... it's going to be a great match for sure!!!

  4. We could have a team of non-league players out and the media would still be unhappy if we beat Croatia 10-0.

I can see why Owen hasn't been picked. He's nowhere near full fitness.

I'd expect the midfield to be Beckham, Lampard, Barry, Joe Cole/Downing.

Personally I'd very happy that Bullard is in the squad, its about time that players who play consistently well for clubs actually getting picked. The only reason I can think of Jenas being there is to give Cashley someone to fool around with.

Despite James having a good game again against Everton I'd still rather see Robert Green in goal.

  5. i think the coach is not trying to put out the best players in the world bcuz he is trying to find a good starting eleven out of the players he has and not great players that dont play together as a team

  6. Even as a newcastle fan i have to say....micheal owen doesn't deserve to be picked for england, i think he only played against arsenal because he knew he could get picked for england if he played a full game. Beckham certaintly shouldn't be picked for england and he is just stopping the progress of the england squad and it's stupid we have to adjust our system for him.

  7. Croatia is nothing without Eduardo.

  8. I can see England slowly becoming a disaster in Zagreb and we're going to be a laughing stock.

Capello thinks/knows what he is doing and lets hope that it all goes to plan - as he said so himself about the experimenting with the squad now over.

I was there at Wembley for the friendly with the Czechs and I saw the team crumbling in front of my very eyes. This is not England, we have a fantstic team on paper - we need to show it on the pitch!

Where is Owen? I don't know. I know this: Rooney and Defoe better step up.

  9. Not a chance.  I have never known England to be so poor - not even under Graham Taylor.

Yeah Owen should have been chosen for the squad.

  10. Dont it make you feel proud, get used to watching others as whats his kite wont get you lot into the world cup, tell you what though theres a better reception on BBC1 than at Wembley and thats saying something

      hahaha
