Does anyone know if I get a degree in England, if it will count in the USA and if I will be able to get a job that requires the qualifications I obtained in the UK?

  1. Depends on the degree, most professional degrees such as law, medical or dentistry will require further education in the U.S. before you are able to legally practice.

You will still need to get your degree evaluated into its' U.S. equivalent but be forewarned that the results will vary, depending on which third party you use. The general census however is that bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees from the U.K. are the equivalent.

The biggest issue you will have to face is getting an employer in the U.S. to both recognize your foreign degree and to sponsor you, since if you have no employer in the U.S. then you cannot apply for a visa which will allow to work here.

  2. A lady at my work has a good job (in USA) and she got her bachelor's degree from a university in England and an MBA at a university here. I think you will be just fine.

  3. What qualifications do you get from an English degree? Unless you're going into teaching , someone with an English degree is considered unskilled labor.
