Do English people really like tea so much?Why we say "English tea" then?

well the younger generation do not drink so much tea, but the mid age and older people do drink loads yes.

We find it a relaxing put your feet up with a cup of tea or for short we say cuppa.

if someone visits us, the first thing we ask is, would you like a cup of tea, or fancy a cuppa.

I need to have a cup of tea each day, at least one, or I feel like I'm missing something. It's just something I was brought up with.
