I mean, do they walk into a deli and ask for American cheese like we do with Mozzarella and what-not?

  1. Not really. I live in Germany and much of the American cheese that I'm used to isn't available.

  2. I don't think so I would love to know what kind of cheeses go in fondue

  3. IT IS NOT CHEDDAR IT IS GOVERNMENT CHEESE!!!!!! (I take my cheese seriously)  And is quite good.

Another name is processed cheese according to Wikipedia.

  4. in my country you can only get american cheese at special stores.

    italian and german cheese typically

  5. Of course they  do.  Americans make the best cheese in the world.

  6. Not so much. They have so much cheese of their own.

  7. I can't say i ever have. Not even sure if i have ever heard of any american cheese makes.

    Cheddar is a english cheese.

A thumbs down lol probably because i said cheddar is a english cheese. It is origanally from the cheddar area in somerset.

  8. I have a friend who went to Germany a couple of times and the first time she went she couldn't find cheese she liked (she was born and raised in Wisconsin).  The family she was staying with went out of their way to find her "yellow cheese", she thought it was really sweet but said it still wasn't the same.  So if she had a hard time finding cheddar or colby cheese of the type she was accustomed to in the US I would have to guess the answer is no.  However, I'm sure some helpful European will duck in here and prove me wrong.  ^_-

  9. Yeah of course
