Do FedEx,UPS, etc Deliverymen Actually Expect Tips?

So yeah do such deliverymen actually expect tips from customers? Im just curious I mean unlike some other service workers like waiters deliverymen who work for delivery companies actually receive decent full wage and delivery is the very job they signed up for.

I know some delivery items require quite a lot of work but nobody give tips to construction workers either.

So once again do delivery workers actually expect tips or not? Because a few of them kinda give attitudes if when you dont tip them.

Anyway, I personally always tip my deliverymen if the delivery is heavy but not if it is tiny stuff.

  1. No, the Fed Ex, UPS, and Postal Service delivery people do not expect tips.

However, it is customary to tip floral delivery persons, the pizza delivery person, house movers, and people who deliver and set-up appliances.

  2. Food delivery people get tips because of a.) they are usually using their own vehicle and b.) they could spit in my food next time.

Otherwise, I don't tip.  They are paid well.  They use the company car.  Chances are I'll never see those furniture delivery guys ever again.  I definitely won't tip FedEx or UPS because it is their job.  I also think they get paid $13.00 or so an hour anyway.

  3. No, they may expect something around the holidays though.

  4. No they do not expect tips.  In fact, company policy says that they are not allowed to accept monetary tips.  If you feel you need to tip them, offer them a homemade cookie or bottle of pop for the road.
