Do Ferrets Get Sick Easily?

I want to get a ferret, but my parents won't let me because they heard that treating a sick ferret can cost $8000! Can it really cost this much? and do ferrets get that sick easily?

Ferrets don't seem to get sick any more than a typical dog or cat.  The caveat is that their lifespan is only about 9 years.  Some live longer, some less, just like the human animal.  Small critters do tend to get cancer more than large ones for some reason, and this can be sad.  Just make sure they have company (preferably their own kind that's compatible) and that their environment is clean and they have room to exercise.  I was able to train my ferrets to p**p on the paper, not hard as they naturally prefer to go in the corners anyway.  

You can-and should-get health insurance for your pets.  I don't believe I've spent $8000 on all my ferrets combined including their food (and it was strictly pet store top shelf stuff, Science Diet, etc.).  I also believe that if one won't afford $200 (or whatever) for the initial purchase, equipment and supplies, one SHOULD NOT GET A PET!  If a person refuses to spend money on the initial price, what about when the critter does get sick?

No they dont get sick easlily, they are dirty animals and live in dirty type enviorments therfore they are immune to many types of bacteria
