  1. Not in snow. Rear wheel drive with the majority of weight up front.

  2. For Mustang is a strong American car. it's fast.no one doubt about that. but, It's a RWD car.

    RWD means Rear Wheel Driver.

then, it works very bad on snow.

Believe me, I 've never seen any RWD cars can handle well on snow even just few inches.

Let's in recommend you. Think about Infiniti G35x.

It's a luxury Japanese car. and it's AWD car.

    AWD is All Wheel Drive.

    Handling very great on snow.

my friend is drving one, and she loves it very much.

Hope my answer can help you.

    Nice day.

  3. I agree with Vincent!

Look at it this way. Two cars you always see whether it's rain, sleet, or snow are taxis and police cars! And 99% of them are rwd! You just need to learn when and how much to use the left and right pedals

  4. I have driven my 98 Mustang on ice several times. It's scary. The Mustang is light to begin with, and since it's rear wheel drive, there is very little weight over the drive wheels, so there is little traction. The wheels lose traction very easily. You really have to baby it on ice or you'll break free and be drifting toward the curb with your rear wheels spinning. Not a good feeling. I think Taxis and cops have an easier time because the Crown Vic is heavier. Plus they chain up or use studded snow tires. If you have snow tires on and maybe put something heavy in the trunk, it will greatly increase your traction.

  5. absolutely not

  6. Never had any problems with my Mustang, except when the snow was piled so high, no one but 4x4 could get through anyway.

If you have good snow tires, you should be OK.

Edit: seems to me lots of people below do not know how to handle a car in wintertime. I have 28 years experience driving RWD cars in Quebec's winter, and if you know how to handle it, you'll have no problem. Forward wheel drive are more forgiving for less experiences drivers because they understeer. In the hands of an experienced driver, the oversteering capacity of RWD means that you gain the possibility of modulating a turn with throttle. But the key word is *experienced*.
