  1. You'd be well served to buy an adapter that you can use for all your appliances.  That would include your cellphone charger if you have an international one.  They're pretty inexpensive, so if you don't need it ... well, you don't need it.

  2. It is common but by no means a sure thing. You need to check before bookling if this is  important to you.

However, even very inexpensive hotels may have a blowdryer installed.

I often stay at the Hotel St. Andre des Artes which is a very cheap (86 euros a night) hotel. Even they installed blowdryers a decade ago when they got tired of tourists complaining about the electricity frying their American blowdryers.

  3. There are a lot of differences between hotels in France and in the USA where we are used to all sorts of amenities as standard!  If you are staying in a brand name hotel you should be fine, but if not, I urge you to check.  Sometimes there isn't even a bathroom in your room, it is completely separate, and not located in your room at all!  Have fun, it's an awesome country!

  4. When I went to France, the hotel had its own blowdryer. You couldn't use an American or British one either, unless you purchased an adapter.

  5. Yes and to make sure you should ring and ask!!!!

  6. i used to bring a mini blowdryer.......then it seemed like all the french hotels installed them......

  7. It depends on the hotel.  Budget hotels are less likely to have them.  Unless you have a lot of social obligations (e.g. you are travelling on business), don't worry about a blowdryer.  Just enjoy your vacation!
