Question:

Do Frogs eat tiny baby Turtles?

This morning I found a tiny baby Turtle struggling to walk on the sidewalk. I picked it up, and brought it home. I have an English garden out front of my house. There was a basket with flowers, stones, dirt and pine cones. All I did was set the little tiny baby Turtle into the basket, and then finished my walk. When I returned to the basket the Turtle was gone, BUT within the basket I found 4 black Frogs. Wow, could they have eaten the poor lil Turtle? I feel horrified. I cannot find a trace of the Turtle.

  1. Frogs will eat anything that moves, if it is small enough to swallow whole. I suspect that your turtle was too large for that. It probably just climbed out and took off.

  2. How big are the frogs? Usually frogs don't eat turtles as far as I know.

  3. frogs will eat anything they can fit in there mouths inculding baby turtles (altho i dont think it would be easy to digest)

  4. Yes; they ganged up on the poor baby turtle and swallowed it whole. Frogs have huge mouths.
