  1. I don't like it.  Sounds too much like "Undies"...

  2. do atheists get offended when they're called heathens?

  3. They are very selective about what to be offended by.  You can call them every name in the book and they don't flinch, but the mere existence of Catholics or homosexuals offends them to their very core.

  4. I take it as a compliment. I just assume they think I must be "Fun" and that they want me to "die". LOL

  5. I think its a lame attempt at trying to make Christians mad.. but in reality, no one thinks its clever or funny :S

Brilliance is when we spell athiest wrong... that really gets em goin muhahahaa.

  6. It's a short name or nickname.  Nothing to get insulted about.

Generally, people look at fundamentalists or fundies with disdain in general.  It doesn't matter if they're shortening the name or not.  The entire movement including evangelicals is less than 300 years old and they reject roughly 1700 years of christian scholars study of the bible to interpret it literally.  On top of that add intelligent design which is nothing more than an attempt to get creationism taught in science class, young earth creationism which is nothing more than pretend science that doesn't hold up to any known test, abstinence only s*x education which is a fools game since 95% of American males and females have s*x before marriage, attempting to force their beliefs on everyone else while screaming they're being persecuted, etc... it's a winning group to be part of.

Pretty much, they're the black eye of Christianity and cause the vast majority of the conflict Christianity is involved in these days.  Abortion clinic bombings are gods work don't you know.

  7. I'm a proud atheist and take pride in being called an infidel, so I assume they would feel a certain pride in being called "fundies."

  8. Not really. They don't "get" offended when you do anything, they just STAY offended constantly, over everything.

  9. Nope not at all.

    :)

  10. Doesn't bother me in the least.

  11. Being one of the "fundies" I have no issue with it, also at best it would be very childish name calling.

  12. "They", Jackie??? What's this, Ebonics?

Those Fundie Reporting Pricks better be glad that I'm not able to cal them on this forum the actual name that they deserve.

  13. I just use it because it's short. Did you ever notice that the acceptable, "PC" versions of words we're supposed to use are so damned long?

    Black -- African American

Indian - Native American (They must love being named after Amerigo Vespucci)

    Chairman - chairperson

    retarded: mentally challenged

    crippled -- physically challenged

If the PC police really wanted to succeed at this, it would be very simple: make the "good" words shorter and easier than the "bad" words.

  14. Of course not!! Do you get offended whey we call Liberal Atheists Socialists?

Uh...maybe... you know, socialism isn't good my friend.

Yet I am not a fundamental Christian. I am neither a liberal nor a fundamentalist. I find all of our government corrupt. That's why I don't vote.

With McCain, the economy will continue to falter. With Obama, the government is going to expand enormously and we will be taxed to death.

Washington in corrupt to the core. You still think, as an American, that our freedom will last much longer? Look at the constant tightening of the noose.
