Question:

Do GPS receivers work upside down?

I refer to those which connect via Bluetooth to a PDA or Laptop.

When the receiver is upside-down do the results (output) get mixed up?

I was thinking about using a bluetooth receiver while it was in my bag - of course the orientation is unknown at that time...

  1. It doesn't matter.  It just changes the orientation of the antenna, and could affect reception, though probably not enough to notice.  I use a Bluetooth GPS receiver with my PDA and it's oriented all sorts of different ways, depending on if it's in my pocket, on my belt, or on the seat of my car.  Always works.

  2. Doesn;t make a difference.

  3. They do work upside down. The only restriction on their ability to work properly would be their ability to receive a signal from the satellites
