Do Guys Like Horses??

Simple enough question.

Around here there are far more men riding horses than women.  In fact the ratio is somewhere around 6 or 7 men to every women.

Depends. I have only 2 or 3 guys in my 4-H group, and I only know probably 3 other guys that like horses, so I'd say the majority aren't that into them, at least in my area, but it depends.

it depends what type of guy he is. if he is one of those soft, sweet ones who likes animals then he should. but most boys are interested more in girls then in animals.

i know a lot of men do western like cutting and campdrafting and rodeo. there are men that do english but not nearly as much as women.

I've been riding a long time (since the early 1970s) and have come across some men who ride, but clearly far more women than men.

Currently I know of two men who ride (personally) along with dozens of women.  When you look at the ranks of top competitors, you will see plenty of men however!  In jumpers, for example, think of Todd Minikus, Maclean Ward, Rodrigo Pessoa, Norman Dello Joia and many others.  Of course Western riding and gymkhana and rodeo have a good number of men participating.

There are guys, like me, who like horses and there are guys who don't.

Just think about all the cowboys you see on TV and in the rodeos and such.

i like horses but i was raised around them so i think of them more as friends and coworkers.our family had a old mare named "lady"and she was my first babysitter,my mother would take me with her to feed and "lady "would watch over me and not let any of the other horses near me untill my mother came back,yes i have a fondness of horses or i would not still be around them.

Well, I do think that some guys like horses...  My husband, our ranch hand and our son LOVE to ride and all 3 really like their horses.  Our ranch hand actually is very sweet to his mount, its sort of cute to watch.  He is a tall guy with a big heart for horses.  They are out there the guys that REALLY like horses!

YES, guys LOVE horses!  I love horses and Ive been riding since I was 4.  My Grandfather was a famous Horse trainer and Judge. he loved horses to the day he died.  My GREATGRANDFATHER was a farrier.... he too loved horses.

sometimes they are g*y if they do!!! but thats really only if they are in the english saddle usually...to answer your question alot of guys love,like,and fall in love with horses... lol

i mean only if they're good guys.. like... i wouldnt want to marry a guy that hated or disliked horses.. they are my life and i would want him to be part of it....

some guys will be willing to learn about them, if they really like you..

My guy is severly allergic to horses... and he still comes out <3 lol he usually ends up taking my horse for grass and if your really quiet and he doesnt notice your there you can hear him talking to him heehee its cute or ive seen them both have there forheads agains one anothers. its soooooo cute... then he usually breaks out in hives.... lmao

My husband's experience with horses before we married involved quarters at the Walmart.

I'd been out of horses for awhile when the purchase of a new property allowed me to get back in.  I took on a poor little Peruvian Paso colt who was rejected by his mother.

Hubby built a nice little stall and helped with the bottle feedings.  One day I went looking for him and found him sitting in the straw in the foal's stall, with the foal lying down beside him with his head in his lap.

He was stroking his face saying, "Oh, you are sooo cute and you smell soooo good, and your nose is soft like velvet."

Hooked!!!

Depends on the person - you cannot possibly answer yes or no to this one.  Do guys like pizza?  Do guys like sparkly shoes?  Do guys like football?  You can't paint everyone with the same brush, even if they are the same gender.

Sure they do!  In my trail riding club men outnumber the women.  The tendancy is for the men to ride while their wives remain at camp and have a gossipfest.  Not me though I'd rather ride my horse.  My husband stays home because he prefers not to ride.

Yes, guys are just as capable of loving a horse as girls, you just won't get them to say it like that often.  Especially the guys who spend more time with a horse than people and don't learn how to express themselves to people.  They can tell the horse.

Around here most women I know are afraid to get close to a horse, but I'm old....  I see a few but not many actually get out and ride much, they may break a nail or something.  I think it's more city/country raised than a gender thing.  Most city boys fear them and most country boys  love to see women on horses.  Times are changing, the percentage of horses owned by women keeps going up everywhere.  I don't think the horses care at all as long as the chores get done right and there's someone on their side when their world gets scary.

yeah, there is a 17 year old with a horse at my barn. and he loves to ride.

and there are 2 dads with horses who also love to ride.

Some do, some don't.  The ones that don't just don't understand the fun about riding.  I myself do.  Nothing better than taking a good horse out for a trail ride.

I have a cousin that is a boy and loves horses! But i also have a brother who doesn't care for horses, It depends on the person, if you were going to take someone for horse back riding, i would definatly talk them into it, my cousin never liked horses until he rode one, now he loves them.

depends on the guy, depends on the first horse he rides. Generally, maybe they will admit, maybe they won't, they like horses it's just lately it's been addvertised for girls (my little pony, barbies etc.) so they kind of went off that path...

there are millions of guys at my barn (most have horses or work there and love them) but i think most of them are after the girls. lol.

It's not that guys don't like horses, It's that girls especially like having at least one big, dumb animal they can control.
