Do HDTV's these days typically come with a vga port? My real question is this, Can I hook up my computer to pretty much any given HDTV these days? I have a VGA output on my computer.

Optional: What do you think about gateway computers in general. Good brand? I might buy the Gateway P-6312 refurb

  1. You need to check the TV's spec. Not all HDTVs come witha VGA port.

Since you are buying a new PC, make sure it has a Digital DVI or HDMI port.

  2. Most HDTV's come with at least a VGA port  some even manage a DVI port as well but you can input computer to the HDMI port as well.

Gateway rate below Dell for reliability and for what you get aren't cheap as they sell machines with older style processors.

  3. Almost no TVs have a VGA input, however most have a HDMI input, which can be used for a PC signal, as long as your PCs video card has an HDMI output.
