Is it worth trying to get picked up from a Broadway show, or a off-Broadway show, for a LA sitcom or a NY/LA feature film? I am not equity but I am SAG. I am 22, but look like I am 18. What do u think??

  1. Theres no guarantee anyone will pick you up for a film anywhere. If you really want to be doing films and TV Broadway and off Broadway are both awesome stepping stones to getting noticed. But as you know, this business is pretty unpredictable.

  2. They'll take anyone who has potential...and having experience in shows is plus for ya.

  3. Yes, take the job that pays the best and gets you the most exposure.  If you are one of the very, very rare few who gets a steady gig on television or film, save your money and do theatre in your down time to hone your acting chops.

    Break a leg.

  4. I think t hey do.  I don't know how you can try to get picked, however, save inviting casting directors and agents to see you in the play.. If you are SAG you can just go pay your Equity dues, or wait until you are cast in an Equity show.  I am sure they will take SAG members at their tryouts.
