I'm guessing "non-profit HOA" means they don't pay federal (IRS) taxes - is that right? what about state (Calif) tax?

  1. they pay no taxes.  They make no money.  Any mone collected is used for the homeowners benefit.

  2. Nope, non profit means that...ergo, nothing to tax.

churches too.....which explains the proliferation of small (and sometimes large) undefinable religious denominations.

the recent growth of "mega-churches" is an outgrowth of the supersized non profit.
