  1. You have every college opportunity that a public or private school student does.  Scouts will look at your playing ability, not your schooling method.  As long as you qualify with your grades and your playing ability, you have every bit as much of a chance as any other student.

  2. There are 2 issues, here.

One is pro-sports. Pro sports don't generally care if you can read, if you can play. So, if you want to be a pro player, in any sport, you need to bring your game up to that level, and play somewhere the scouts can see you.

The second issue is college. Colleges may be able to offer scholarships to gifted athletes, but only colleges fielding teams in Division one. Smaller colleges are forbidden, by NCAA rules, from offering "incentives" to athletes, and strict rules control even contact with athletes before senior year.  As a homeschooler, you and your family will need to manage that process without the help of coaches who may be more familier with the protocols. Ask your folks to read eligibility guidelines at the NCAA website.   http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcx...

But you would lose eligibility for ANY aid, and even to play, if you can't handle the academics.  So getting the basics is essential to any college plan.

You might want, as part of your homeschooling, to interview a coach or manager (or possibly a player or two) and find out what their path was to employment in the pros. That will give you a more realistic idea of what the real-life process is. And such independent study is one of the things admissions counselors expect to see, with a homeschool application.

Have fun. It's good to have things you love to do.
