Do Honda Preludes have Speed limiters?

While cleaning my 95 Prelude i saw that there is a plastic mold under the accelerator. What is its purpose?

  1. just for the rpm but if your prelude is a SI it doesn't one. but that plastic mold is just when you floor it you don't bend the bracket that holds the pedal


  2. All vehicles have a speed limiter but it would be a computerized switch that cuts power at a set speed.  The bumper under the accelerator is a stop so that your throttle connection is not damaged by trying to push it past full throttle.

  3. well I've had a couple Hondas and the only limiter they have is the rpm.
