  1. hello there, regarding your question the best thing that you should do is to browse the internet. There are many things that you can read about this matter that would help enlighten your mind about what to do when hopping to US.

  2. first off, canadian permanent resident card is not called a green card. it's called a maple leaf card (i know coz i have had both cards).

and yes, you need to get a visa for the US even if you're a permanent resident of canada. the US grants entry into their country based on the country of citizenship, not residence.

i know it's confusing coz US permanent residents are allowed entry into canada with their permanent resident status. sadly, the US is much more stricter than canada. so yes, you will probably be needing a visa if your country of origin does not have a visa waiver program with the US.

here are the list of countries not needing visas to enter the US:

    Andorra Iceland Norway

    Australia Ireland Portugal

    Austria Italy San Marino

    Belgium Japan Singapore

    Brunei Liechtenstein Slovenia

    Denmark Luxembourg Spain

    Finland Monaco Sweden

    France the Netherlands Switzerland

    Germany New Zealand United Kingdom
