Do I HAVE to burn 3500 calories a week to lose weight?

or what do I need to do? I jog on the treadmill 3-4 times a week but i am not burning 3500 cals just by exercise. My BMR is 1585.8.

  1. You have to consume less than you burn.  Numbers don't matter.  If you burn 1000 per day, your body will consume fat only if you consume less than 1000 per day etc etc.


  2. a day to loose a lb a day.  

  3. you can cut down on your calorie intake along with the exercise you're doing. 3500 calories = 1 pound I've read, but you don't have to lose a full pound every week. Slow and steady works too, you're doing well anyway with the exercise you do take. Good luck!
