  1. I have adult a.d.d. and have the same types of things happen with me.

  2. ADD isn't simply something that happens while reading.  ALthough it does match me to a tee, and I am diagnosed with ADD.  However, you should see symptoms like not finishing projects at home or work, forgetting where you are going, disorganization, not responsible checkbook keeping or giving that responsibility to your spouse.  The best thing to do is to ask other people about you.  The website listed below was the biggest help for me.  Make sure to ask other people if they see these same things in you.

If you just have a lot on your mind, find a relaxing place to read.

  3. You might, but even if you do you have to still stay in control. I was diagnosed with adhd and given medication at 35 years old! I still have found that I had to take control of my actions. When I read I had to make myself stay focused. For example, when I would do what you desciribed I would try to immediately stop reading start over and make myself think about what I was reading. That was hard, too. When I read anatomy/physio book for college I constantly do that. So, you probaly were reading something of less interest and your mind just automatically diverted over to what it wanted to think about. It may just be that. I think we all suffer from add when comes to reading or learning about something we don't give a dam about.

  4. Why does everybody assume that anyone who ever gets distracted has ADD? Maybe you are just not that into that book, or into reading at all... maybe you just have things on your mind... sheesh.

  5. I've been diagnosed with ADD a few years back, and that is one of the problems I have lol , the same thing, where i'll be reading then suddenly i'm a few pages later and not sure how i got there or what i just read. Do you have any other signs or symptoms of ADD? Getting the proper therapy and medication can make all the difference in the world!

  6. yes, yes you do
