  1. if you buy it, you pay the price the seller asks for it plus their shipping, beyond that you are not liable for tax unless US customs withold the item and demand import tax on it.

    If that happens, they'll probably want you to provide a receipt showing the value... if it's an online purchase, you can just print it off... you can of course also amend the price, not that I'm saying you should.

    It's unlikely they'll bother though, and get the seller to mark it as a Gift where possible.
