Question:

Do I Still Need to Report to my Probation Officer?

Hi, All!

I live in Mass. In 2005, I was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property. I did not do jail time because I declare myself guilty as my first lawyer sugested. The term of my probation was for one year, and every month I needed to report to my probation officer. However, I hired a second lawyer to appeal the decision. I don't know what was the final disposition. I do believe he told me that I didn't need to report to my probation officer anymore.

But now I am scared because I am afraid that I did not listen to him correctly, and I may ended up in jail.

Is it possible that I didn't need to report to my probation officer after the second lawyer reached another results?

Can anyone help me?

  1. First off if you hired another lawyer than he had to file an appeal and If he filed an appeal you had to go back to court

If you did not go back to court I do not see any other way around that

Which means you would have been there and heard the Judge and you would have heard the results

You also if it was closed out would have gotten some paperwork stating the facts of the case and the results

You had a years probation and you whined about it????

    That is NUTS

You should have went to see the PO Until that PO said Not to

Your best advice is to either call that second lawyer and ask him for paperwork regarding that case.

look up your case  You can in most states look up your own records online for free

If not contact the PO and ask.

if you are in violation I would not give the story you gave here because Sorry it sounds week and phony Again Sorry I know courts and that one is not likely to fly anywhere.

Just tell her you made a mistake be honest and try to get the probation reinstated

Or pray you do not get in trouble for another 20 or 30 years

i know a friend who got locked up 17 years later for  a probation she thought was too far gone to effect her

    that warrant was still there

    Than again some PO

s will wipe it clean if you contact them and have been on no other trouble

as i said Be honest and hope she is cool

  2. Report, until told otherwise by your PO.
