Do I dry off Broad Bean seeds in the pod or out, for next years seeds?

I am trying to dry out broad beans to use as seed next year

  2. Let the pods dry on the plant until they're brittle. Then cut the whole plant and put it in a paper sack and hang in the shed to dry. The beans will fall out themselves when they're ready. Then just pop them in an envelope and save for next year, or plant them at the end of autumn for an earlier crop next year, though to be honest I don't personally see much different between autumn and spring sowings.

    Oh, and beware that broad beans do cross pollinate very easily with other varieties.
