Ok you guys aren't paying attention to the fact that I mentioned My daughter was in bed and had no idea what happened because I said nothing to her and if you had paid attention to my post you would have noticed that I said I do NOT discuss these things with my kids. This is something personal that only my husband, mother, and sisters know about. Thanks anyway for trying, what about all of the other stuff I mentioned? Ok so the light flickering wasn't a huge deal but, come on...I predicted within days to hours when my grandfather, cousin, grandfather-in-law, great-grandmother-in-law, great uncle, uncle, friend, best friends dad, all died? And the shadow people and ghosts? The stuff flying off the bookshelves, k***s flying off the stove, dishtowels flung across the room? (that were all witnessed by others as well) And the childrens voices I hear and footsteps when nobody is home?

  1. This is about the worst place to ask a question like this. LOL

Seriously, telepathy is the ability to hear someone else's thoughts (yes, that can include spirits as well), which it doesn't sound like you're quite doing. A really good example of telepathy that happened to me recently: I was seated at a table with other people, and one person asked another what his favorite ice cream was. The first thought to pop into my head (and it was immediate) was "rocky road". Guess what his answer was? It's things like that. You'll hear it in your own voice, it won't be a different voice. So it could very well be that you're telepathic.

But I also wonder...do you "feel" things a lot? Pick up emotions from the people around you? Ever been around an emotional person, whose, say, seething with anger, and find yourself suddenly raging when you were just fine before you started talking to them? Find crowds of people overwhelming? Ever been accused of being "over emotional"? Have a "gut instinct" you can rely on to be always correct? That's what I have, and it's called clairsentience, or empathy. You feel things. I'm not positive about this though, but it sounds very very familyar to me, and I'm an empath. I have other abilities, telepathy being among them, but my empathy is by and far my stronger.

But that you are empathic would explain why you're attracting all these things, that you do have a gift.

  2. You don't have telepathy, that is the ability of being able to communicate by using thought/reading minds.

If you say your lights are flickering, I am sure that can be explained as an electrical problem.

Hearing noises, of singing could have been a car driving by with loud music.

I can say yes you do believe strange things are happening, I believe that you believe it, however only an investigation of the home, can show other wise.

If you think your causing it, well that only happens with kinetic energy with teenagers, you seem a tad bit older for that, Its not telekinesis either, if you want to learn more about premonitions or paranormal activity get a book on it.

  3. I can't give you an answer to your question, but I do worry about the flickering light bulb. It may present a fire hazard (yours too, TR). You guys should get those light fixtures checked out. Better safe than sorry!

  4. It follows you wherever you go because there are no such thing as haunted houses, only haunted people.  You say so yourself.  It appears you have transferred some of your paranormal beliefs to your daughter.  Now she, like her parent, is interpreting just about everything even slightly unusual as having a supernatural source.  She is now fully succeptable to suggestibility just as you are.

I believe you are correct when you say your mind may be influencing these events--it's all in your mind.

  5. if you truly had telepathic powers, you would already KNOW the answer to this...

Some people are just more "in tune" with others...more sensitive...more "open"....Since this was your child, I'm not surprised....

Now...the 'shadow people"...I certainly hope you haven't shared that little bit of oddity with your children.

If you think you are constantly "haunted" by poltergeists, I think a visit to a mental health professional may be in order...

I am not judging here or trying to put you down...but I your question was a bit disturbing and were you someone I know, I would have DSS or someone check to make sure your kids and you were OK....

I am a sensitive person myself, and can often predict what someone will say and most often what they will do and LOTS of times that something will happen..I am just attuned to people in a way others aren't...nothing "magical" about it...I'm just really sensitive to others needs...

  6. It is not Telepathy that would mean you could communicate with people living or dead using your mind.

Poltergeist activity tends to occur around a single person called an agent or a focus.

  7. Firstly, your mind isn't making people die or other spooky things to happen. Your intuition alerts you to what is happening around you that is unseen. You sound like you have a highly intuitive sense when people are about to pass over and you may have the spirit of a dear departed remaining close to you, causing you to feel their presence. Also, people in spirit recognise the most intuitive people and will hang around them trying to pass messages and be heard.

When my husband died, in his shock and trauma he clung to me very closely. I couldn't figure out why I felt as if I was carrying enough grief for 2 people - well, I was.

You can try and tune in further and see if you can understand who is around you and what they want and see if you can help. Usually the best defensive is offensive. Be assertive even if you think it is silly, and you will get further insight.

  8. Correct, your mind is causing these events.Just not in the way you hope.

  9. Hmmm...maybe you should move away from that house. Or tell them to leave you alone, or uh, gee. I don't know. You are not telepathic, I hnestly don't see what that has to do with anything, but shadow people freak me the ____ out!!

  10. I don't know what that has to so with telepathy, but it's pretty freaky!

  11. If you have telepathy, you would not need to ask this question. You would automatically know that nothing in your story lead to any proof of any kind of telepathy. I mean, sure, you might have a poltergeist but not telepathy.

  12. you have a good intuition.  and maybe a spirit is haunting you because it knows that you sense these things.  i too beleive i have a sixth sense so you are not alone.  i'd talk to a real meduim if you can to see what is going on around you.

    good luck.

  13. i think you  do  tune  into  a higher  frequency than the  average  person .i wonder  if the "poltergeist "would  exist independent of  yourself  just  as .. would  a  tree  be  heard in a  forest if  there  was nobody there  to  hear  it  fall?.the  power  to  be  "on a  roll" whether it is  to throw  good  dice or  predicting the  next  song on the  radio  or reading the  next  thought of  someone before  he  shares  it  with you   confirms  signs paranormal  experiences .so  now  that you  have  them   what  do u  do  with  that  "gift"

i created  a  group on yahoo  that  i  would  like  all of you  to  join so  we  can discuss this phenomenon  in more  depth

    use  your  powers  wisely

  14. if you had telepathy you would have known I was going to say no and not needed to ask.

on the other hand, you probably know what I am going to say next, right?

  15. Well, I read this a couple times and it seems to boil down to a few things. You were freaked out by something very natural (a lightbulb flickering). There's nothing supernatural there. I've got a socket in my bedroom closet which causes the lightbulb to flicker quite a bit. For some reason the bulb always comes loose.

Then, a report from your daughter about the door locking and feeling prickles. Well, no offense, but young kids have great imaginations have have been known to tell tales. Ask any parent :)  How do we know her story is accurate and true? Especially if her mother is encouraging her belief in spirits, if you indeed are?

If you think you are predicting the deaths of your relatives with your feelings of doom or sadness, my response is that maybe you have these feelings, fleeting perhaps, every day. When a relative dies, you remember these feelings and think it was a precognition of sorts, but you disregard all the other times you had the feeling where nothing happened. It's called confirmation bias. It's a common mind trick we tend to play on ouselves.

Regarding "the stuff flying off the bookshelves, k***s flying off the stove, dishtowels flung across the room", I'd need to see it to believe it. Are they indeed flying around, or did the k**b and dishtowel simply fall straight down due to gravity?  If the latter, I wouldn't be too impressed by that.

Regarding hearing children's' voices and footsteps, I'd question whether you're hearing kids outdoors or perhaps hearing a TV or radio left on. The footsteps can simply be attributed to knocking due to thermal expansion/contraction of the beams and joists in the flooring or loose piping.

So in summary, I see nothing supernatural here.
