Do I have a chance for second interview if:

They did not ask for the references

They asked for expected salary and I told them what Im making right now

They said im the first one to interview and they have a lot more people and they will call people for second interview

I keep thinking what each of these means, do I get a second interview or not. Anybody in my shoes?

  1. It is too iffy to say.  Just make sure you send a nice thank you note for the interview.

  2. all you can do is wait and see

  3. Depends. Are you exceptionally qualified for the job? How is the job market in your area? Are tons of people looking for jobs? If so, then some pretty highly qualified people are applying for some jobs they would never consider taking before.  Cross your fingers and hope if you aren't "absolutely perfect" for that job. Good luck to you!

  4. You may or may not.  They won't ask for references usually, unless you are one of the final candidates.

  5. Hard to say.. there are lots of people applying for the jobs.. they will invite those again for a second interview who impressed them the most.. during the first I guess.. but if there are so many applicants the chances are getting smaller to be invited to a second interview and they will look at your resume and qualifications.. and who is most suited will get invited again and that might still not be the end of it.. there could be a third interview or a phone interview..  wait and see... it's possible.. x*x
