Do I have a multi-layer DVD burner?

I am trying to burn a multi-layer DVD due to the fact that I need to burn a 7 GB file. My DVD burner on my laptop has a little icon on it that says "DVD multi burner". Does this mean that my burner supports multi-layer DVDs? and If so, what is the best program to use when it comes to burning a multi-layer DVD?

thanks in advance,

Carlos

  1. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD creator give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Also, you can search some other software:

  2. A model number and brand would help a lot.

  3. I believe the icon should say something lie "DVD+R DL". My laptop says something about "DVD Multi-Recorder" but my laptop does not burn Dual Layer disc (or at least I don't think so). I believe the "multi" is just saying that it burns many different formats. The initial DL (standing for Dual Layer) should be on or next to the icon.
