Do I have a perfect pitch or not?

I am able to identify any key in the piano without a reference pitch

But while tuning my violin I often make mistakes without a reference pitch

That is I don't exactly tune as shown in my chromatic tuner

the chromatic tuner shows a little difference in precision if i tune by ear

But I am able to identify the exact note on the piano without a reference pitch

  1. I think you've got perrfect pitch or at least extremely close

  2. There's a wide spectrum of people with 'perfect pitch'. There's people who recognize piano notes, and people who can tune the piano... You happen to be the first one!

  3. Tuning a violin requires more precision than identifying the keys on a piano.  When identifying a piano key, you have a range between the mid-point pitch between that key and the nearest lower key and the mid-point pitch between that key and the nearest higher key.  When tuning a violin, there is no range, no leeway.

  4. i think maybe cause for the piano the pitch is fixed(if it is tuned!)heres my picture of perfect pitch:a person with perfect pitch is able to know instantly if a note is flat or sharp no matter how close it is to the real note...but thats my picture...so yea maybe u got perfect pitch or at least somewhat...

  5. ... Hey I got three out of 12 and I didn't have the audio on at all.
