Do I have a phobia of meat?

I've been a vegetarian since I was 7, so for over half my life and I think I might have a phobia of meat. I don't like touching meat, raw or cooked. And I don't like things that have touched meat touching anything I might touch or eat. Plus, I don't like watching people eat meat.

Do you think I have a phobia? And if so, does it have a name?

  1. Carnophobia - Fear of meat.

You may just not like the idea of meat though. I have friends who are vegetarians who just don't like it. I'm not a vegetarian but sometimes can't stand the texture of certain meat and if there is blood or something when I'm eating meat I lose my appetite completely. I've noticed I've started to veer away from red meat in recent years and really only eat white meat now.

So I don't know if you have a phobia because you're not scared, I just think you don't like it.

  2. thats just crazy. why would you be afraid of meat because your self is filled with meat. try eating bigmac and that will take off your phobia in meat LOL

  3. Yes does sound abit like a phobia but don't know the name although i'm sure there is one.

  4. Interesting.

You may be exhibiting the responses to meat that everybody would exhibit if their parents hadn't raised them eating it.

Humans aren't supposed to eat meat after all.

We have to sterilize it and build a tolerance to it in order to be able to consume it at all.

And, even then, it causes all sorts of health problems for us.

Like gorillas and many of our other primate cousins, we're at our healthiest when we're eating nothing but plant-based foods.
