Question:

Do I have a royal title like "lady" or "duchess"?

My great-grandmother's brother was Prince of Orange. They were the descendants of the house of Hapsburg (Austria), Orange-Nassau, Tudors and nearly all the Stuarts. So does that make me of any nobility or title like "duchess" or even just a "lady"?

  1. Quite a family line. So many people have no idea where they came from.

You look like a princess to me.

  2. No.  The family lines you come through have titles that descend down the male line, so you would not have a title.  Your great-grandmother would have been "Lady whatever" (the title of Prince as the ruler of a country does not have a Princess or Prince as their daughter or son)

Sorry to disappoint you there!  However - you have a very interesting family line and it would be fun for you to trace your family tree.

  3. No. If you did you would already know. To have any title, you must be in the direct line of succession to inherit it.You may be a descendant of a prince of Orange, but you do not have any titles.

  4. You would not be considered any of those unless you have birth certificates from your lineage proving your families line. Claiming the name wont give you the titles.

The only right to titles you would have would have to be proved through lineage of your fathers line. Start with him and work your way up and that would tell you which house you belong too and who you can claim.
