I am taking IB, and my subjects are:

HL

Math 7, Econ 7, Geo 6

SL

Korean 7, English 7, Physics 7, Further math 6

The numbers are my predicted grades.

My Sat score is 2130, CR 640, M 800, W 690

I will be taking SAT II physics and math 2 in october. I know my SAT score is not most impressive, and my extracurricular is not amazing, except I have two national and international awards. Plus, I am korean and international competition is pretty darn fierce.

Do you think I have chance for Stanford, U Penn, Chicago and UCB?

  1. Your math score on the SAT is PERFECT, and your overall score is strong, so to me it sounds like you'd be a candidate for all four schools.

I'm not really familiar with IB and their grading criteria, but I know it's a really respected program.

Admission to all the schools is incredibly fierce for everyone right now. I'm not sure about the other schools, but I know that Stanford really prides itself on having a diverse, international student body, so being from Korea could totally help you. The application for Stanford just went live, so you can go ahead and check it out and start prepping if you're interested. I imagine the other schools either have their apps ready by now or will have them soon.  Just make your essays as interesting, well-written and unique as possible, nail down your recs, and keep on working as hard as you can. I would apply to some "safety" schools just as a back up. Everyone I know is doing this because it's just so tough right now.

    Best of luck!!!!!
