3 days ago I fell of my skateboard and banged the side of my foot. emediateley after I fell I got up and I could skate. in the past three days I have had no pain at all walking or skating. the thing that is bothering me is that when I push the outside of my heel(the outside of the calcaneus bone) I feel a dull pain that I kinda localized. is this just a bone bruise or could it be a fracture?

also I have no swelling or bruising and the pain has stayed pretty much the same even though I have skated twice since the accident( the pain has not got any worse). please help me !!!

  1. It could be a fracture, and the calcaneous bone has one of the longest healing times of any bone. A lot of people will land after falling or something and be thankful not to have hurt anything only to realize a few days later that they broke their heel. With the pain being localized I would get it checked out, even if there isn't a lot of bruising or swelling since that's also semi common in calcaneous fractures. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

  2. it isn't fractured... you would feel a sharp pain a lot more than you are now and it would swell... it also wouldn't take a few days for the pain to start

oh... and an amazing website for these kinds of questions is www.webmd.com  use their symptom checker and you can select exactly what is wrong and they will give you a list of possible explinations.
