It hurts to pee and there is some blood in my urine. I really hate going to the doctors, but is that the only solution? I'm going to get some cranberry juice to help stop the pain but is there anything else I can get? And no, its not std or anything like that

  1. Actually, yes. It CAN be an std. Those are classical signs of 1 or 2 of them, painful urination and bleeding during urination.

But I'd venture to say it's a uti. You DO need to go to the dr, though, as infections will only get worse w/o being properly treated. You need antibiotics. Oregano is a natural one. You can try to go to a healthfood store and let them know that you'd like oregano capsules and ask if they have anything else that would work as an antibiotic.  Also ask them what they have for urinary tract health. They've usually got a selection that can help.

  2. I haven't had any bleeding when I've had a UTI, but there us an over the counter pain reliever for UTI's. It helps with the discomfort, but it will make your urine bright orange and can stain panties. I find that if I combine that with lots of water and cranberry juice it will often go away on its own.

  3. sounds like a uti to me. cranberry juice won't help much with the pain, but you're on the right track. It should help with clearing it up. I'd take some pain relievers as well. But you need to go to a doctor. It'll only get worse without treatment.

It's possible it could be something else, but that makes it even more vital that you go to a doctor and have it checked out. Go as soon as you can.

To double check your symptoms, go to WebMD.

  4. No one can tell you for sure-except the doctor. And, if you do have one, you NEED to get it treated or else it will travel to your kidneys. If you let it go long enough without treatment, it will cause damage to your kidneys. If you ask me though, it sounds like a classic case of one.

Going to the Dr. is very easy. Just call and tell them you think you have a urinary tract infection and tell them the symptoms. They will have you come in to pee in a cup, and they will be able to analyze it right there and prescribe some antibiotics. It'll be gone in no time! But, you will begin to feel better immediately after beginning the antibiotics, so make sure you take all of the medication, or else it may not be completely gone and will come back frequently.

A UTI is the most uncomfortable feeling in the world, and I hope you feel better soon!

Also-I forgot to mention that cranberry juice is very good for your urinary system-but only if it is sugar free. Sugar is what bacteria thrives on, so drinking a sweetened cranberry juice will only irritate it more. Stay away from pop or any other drinks that are loaded with sugar. Drink plenty of water and PURE, all natural cranberry juice while you are on antibiotics!
