And if I go to live abroad, how can I make sure my insurance will work??

Do you recommend me BlueCross or Blue Shield. How much will I have to pay monthly??

Or a cheaper one should be better.

Thanks.

  1. Here in the USA, insurance is regulated on a state by state basis.  Likely, unless you have a lift threatening emergency overseas, that USA policy isn't going to cover you.

Rates are based on how old you are, and how healthy you are.

You really need to talk to a local agent, who can try to find a major medical policy that will cover you overseas, depending on which country you're going to.

  2. You have a couple options.  If you are not a US citizen you can get an International Health Insurance policy to cover you in the US or overseas.  Or you could get a 'regular' plan in the US and buy a travel medical policy when you go overseas.

You don't want to deal with a local agent because in all likelihood they won't have any experience with international coverages.

I have links on my site for different international as well as domestic plans if you want to take a look and learn a little bit.
