How can I tell if I have the SE or the Sport? Its been painted since it was new so it doesnt say anything on it. My XJ is a 94 and I want to put a new crate motor into it, does it matter what engine I put in? I noticed that the head was a little different in one of them. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  1. Ya. What Bonobo said. Spot on perfect!

  2. Look at the engine compartment... if there are only 5 spark plug wires on the distributor cap, then you have a 4 cyl....aka a SE... if it has 7, then you have a 6 cyl...aka a Sport.

  3. Yea Jeep.com and enter the vin number

  4. jeep.com  there is a selection for owners.  click on it and enter your vin number

that should tell you what you need to know.

it could either be a 4 or 6 cylinder.

  5. carfax?! idk wat ur asking?

  6. Just use your VIN number. Its on the driver side dash board, your title, or your registration. Any place you are getting a motor from can make sure you are getting the right motor with the VIN. You can also find out what trim package your Jeep is.
