Do I have an old soul??? Help me?

Here are facts about me:

I am 15

I get along with people older than me (like people in 20's) I find it hard to fit in with people my own age.

I love studying life and writing "lessons learned in life" emails to people.

I love music, and english. I want to be a band director, and yes I am in band.

I seem to understand lectures about life at a deeper level than others my age and I actually think about it. They just want to get away from it.

I can't find out out of 2 different groups of friends I fit into.

Feel free to ask questions...I just want to find out why I seem to be SO DIFFERENT than others my age...it is difficult to explain. My band director/mentor told me I had an old soul when I was 13. I always went to her to just talk about stuff during lunch...she knew me very well so I trust her, but I still wonder... Thanks

PS What do I do if I just can't seem to get along with others my age?

  1. I'm 15...

I'm kind of the same, except for the music part. I rather be alone than hang out with people at school. I love the learn about life in general and debate, which no one i know ever seems to understand. I guess i'm not the only one...

It is probably do to factors affecting your own life. I was brought up in a family that was much much older than me. I understood things that most people my age wouldn't get. I still do...I'm the way i am because people i know are more interested in "going to the mall" and "hanging out" than what i like which is discussing and learning--kind of pathetic but yeah. I go my way. People I know act like they understand but i know very well that they don't.

So my question is, have you always been like this? Any factors that may play part to why you are like this?

  2. You might be an old soul, as in spiritual teachings; a crystal child. However for me these are theories. I want to give myself as an example, maybe you will understand. I have talked to spiritual teachers, online and said to me that my aura is blue, with nuances of yellow and green. As well I am an indigo child, this is seen on the second layer of the aura. (if you are, or not)

    So,

I am 18 years old. I talk to people beyond my age: 22-30-50. I am passionate about philosophy, theology. And admire poetry, literature as well as classical music; ambiental as well. I contemplate and meditate. (contemplation - a pure cognitive process) (meditation - a state in which you control your emotions and instincts). I can`t find groups to fit in as well.

do you have yahoo messenger, maybe we can talk?

look some of my ideas, to know me better:

    1. What if the universe has been going through a process of reincarnation. I want you to deconstruct the meaning of reincarnation as it is in world religions. Time is infinite and cyclical; it had, has and will have no end. Matter is finite. Thus, I mean that you, I, and everybody else; every idea, action will repeat itself exactly the same an infinite amount of times. This life you live now will return to you, again and again; without even realizing it. Would you accept this, or not - if you would be possible to choose?

    2. Are humans taken separately unique, taken as forms and substances? Do they have  haecceities (particular things)? Or do all particular things that compose a human being`s substance, as other persons see them, are in fact universals (quiddities)?

    3. how artly thou knowledge are, and what torment you birth in my own being. how scarce the words of fire with might exist; how I can not follow a way to express mine fever for her inner sanctuary. even infinite time finite it is for love.

in doubt I thus construct an abyss of illusions and paradoxes. because humans pretend rational to be, and objective to the other-them.

philosophy is a language; which helps me to transcend my being into nothingness. agnostic theist or agnostic atheist I am not, I turned to a new term; that is objective agnostic.

to talk to life in front of her, this love that will forsaken me, I must learn this language that is called philosophy. I did, and still am... and words count and count and count... and never end... eternal as suffering it is. words empty to those who weak in thought exist. how empty and cryless I am when alone... in anguish of knowing that I cannot see what there can not be seen - Divinity.

Asimptotic we move... alert or slow, depends on what shore we lore. We tend to reach this Divinity unknown, however... some pretend they did, some might, some not - it is a guess - unbearable to me...

Ah! when I shall see... to ennoble men it is my only wish.

To try to believe. To reach the top of the mountain of faith and to leap; or at least to have the temptation to leap. The leap into faith; a leap that is meant to revive you. A leap, however, without a turn. A struggle with your own being. The temptation to believe.

So for me philosophy is as Shestov said. It is a struggle, it is a torment, it is a matter of life and death.

(hope you understand what I have written)

(I was born in Romania and live in this country as well, though I tend to move into England. 01.03.1990 is my full birth date.)

  4. Sounds like me. Just loosen up dude and realize that you're only a kid once!

  5. I think you learn better from older people than the younger inexperienced ones.Maybe for this reason you get along better with older persons.

Dont worry and keep on with it.Best wishes

http://www.megagenius.com  You may be a "soft or gentle/wise genius," i.e., your love balances your mind, hence you are thoughtful but not brittle or driven, headucated.  You can elect/choose to champion your inner sense, innocence, inner childlike joy, love, mercy, purity, and heal childish envy, pride, etc., or simply "grow old" in the sense of "losing it" (inner childlike joy, love of life, etc.).

  7. you may feel that you learn more from older oeople.the way kids act today i dont blame you for choosing an older crowd

  8. I feel the same way! except I love history and traveling. perhaps you are an old soul. I feel that I am aswell. I am just 16 and more mature then anyone my age.

  9. It has been postulated that some of the very oldest souls will sometimes hide all their experience from themselves, to see for certain what they may have truly accomplished in personal growth. Regards, Larry.

  10. Soul is an acquirement. It is the sum of your God like decisions while in the flesh and this will carry you to the next life if you survive.

P.8 - §10 4. Soul. The soul of man is an experiential acquirement. As a mortal creature chooses to "do the will of the Father in heaven," so the indwelling spirit becomes the father of a new reality in human experience. The mortal and material mind is the mother of this same emerging reality. The substance of this new reality is neither material nor spiritual--it is spiritual.

  11. I often feel the same way. You can still have older friends, just try hang out with kids your age once in a while. Trust me, there's bound to be people your age who can relate to you.

  12. I think your very last sentence may be the most important thing you ask. Old soul or not, it doesn't matter if you cannot co-exist and old souls know that. Don't get me wrong, I relate to what you are saying. At 12 my friends were 18, at 20 they were 35, and at 30 they're 45-50. I can relate, however it's wise to know that any old soul can relate in capacity to any age. You just enjoy more mature company. There's nothing wrong with that but never become arrogant in thinking you are better than those whom you are grouped with by age. All souls, old and new have benefits and offer insights into life. That comes in the form of what to do and what NOT to do and there is no definitive answer based on a stereotype. Age is a stereotype as well as a classification. Be aware, LISTEN, and take in what you see, slowly. An old soul is aware that only he/she is important in what their weaknesses and strengths are and respects that others have their own set of weaknesses and strengths as well. That truth alone is likely what you are drawn to in older people. Think on it.
