  1. how are u going to do that, the burdon is on you?

  2. Yes, but it's complicated, and it depends on the nature of the board.

First, you must ask if the board operator exercises editorial control over the board. If he does, then he can be liable for defamation. If not, then liability rests only with the poster.

Assuming it's a board - like this one - that is unedited, you'd need to go to court and file a lawsuit against the screen name used to post the defamatory comment. Then you could serve the board operator with a subpoena asking for the real contact info for the poster.

Once you have that, you get to go to court and prove that a) the comment was in fact legally defamatory, and b) you suffered actual financial damages because of it.

  3. No.  You can sue for damages but the courts will not prohibit publication.  To sue, you must show false statements of fact (not opinions) published to third parties, resulting in damage to your reputation and tangible financial harm.

  4. it is only defamation if it isn't true.

And although you can ask, they do not have to comply

  5. Is the statement false?  Can you prove that the statement is false?  Can you prove who did it and NOT assume who did it?  What damage has this caused you?

If you answered yes to ALL of these and have damages, you can sue.  If you answered no to at LEAST one or do not have any damages (which you would have to prove damages), then no.

  6. make a copy..make a police report..report to the site administrator
