Question:

Do I have anything wrong with my heart?

For a while now, and I've never gotten this checked out before, my heart does this thing where it speeds up slightly I guess. But it feels like its skipping beats (Yes I know that's impossible because Id be a walking heart attack) but it's not painful it's just uncomfortable. But I know its abnormal. I just don't know if I have a heart murmur or what? I can't explain what it is or what happens I just know its uncomfortable and I just try not to move when it happens so it'll pass. Any suggestions as to what this could possibly be?

  1. This is normal, unless it happens all the time. It would help to know how often it happens. But it might just be a slight bit of physical stress and your body needs to pump blood faster, maybe for digestion, to remove some toxin, who knows. But if it happens frequently, you could have undiagnosed atrial septal defect, where the wall between both ventricles isn't fully closed, and oxygen poor blood mixes with oxygen rich. Get an EKG if it worries you more.

  2. Yes - it happens to me - I have two different types of arraythmia, I get etopic beats, and I have a hole in my heart (apparently 33% of us do and we do not know it).

You need to see a doctor - and he or she needs to refer you to a cardiologist - do not play around with this.

I am still waiting for them to work out what is causing mine.  It is very stressful on your heart - and my heart is mildly damaged from it.  Only found out by chance - whenever I would go to the doctor to complain there would not be any symptoms and he would tell me it was nerves - and ignore me.

  3. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse, most people go their entire lives without even knowing they have it. I have those same symptoms. You should probably go to the doctor and have an echocardiogram done just to be on the safe side. If it is Mitral Valve it's no big thing, some people do need medication for it. Go to the doctor, that's your best bet to find out what may be going on. It may be nothing. Better safe than sorry.

  4. I would not wait for something to maybe happen~~ I would be calling my Doc ASAP!

  5. no...skipping beats is not impossible...my grandpa gets it when he is supper stressed out...but i forgot what its called...i think you should get it checked out by a doctor...don't take any chances

  6. It would be irresponsible to advise anything other than a doctor appointment.  so...make an appointment.

  7. go to the doctor

  8. go and get your heart checked by a cardiologist.

  9. You should definitely see a doctor. An abnormal heart rhythm can be a sign of something serious, but often it's easily controlled with medication.

A heart murmur is something else. An abnormal rhythm can cause you to faint at inopportune times, like while driving a car or riding a bicycle. Any abnormal beats or skipping beats is an indication that you should see a professional. Please follow up on this. Soon.

  10. sounds like irregular heartbeat. could be several different causes. go see your doctor and have it checked out.

  11. Allot of the 475 million americans are walking around with hearts making this murmur skip of a beat we all feel it and its normal for those

who have the problem within the heart. It becomes very pronounced and can be a discomfort to those afflicted. you know its your heart flubbing around in the chest for you feel it i make s you stop and feel the chest to feel the occurance. totaly normal until the heart seases

or stops for good around 78 or early 82 years. called death.

We are all going to die some time in the future its part of life and thats all to it.

  12. I used to have that happen to me a lot. I started to go for walks and runs and eating more healthy. Drinking juices that help your heart. I don't get it any more and I feel a TON better than I used to, when I didn't even know I felt that bad, cause I felt it all the time.

  13. My father in law has an irregular heartbeat which caused him to have a stroke at age 70.  You can get medications for it if that is what it is.  It is called Articular Defibrilation I believe.  I have a heart murmur and it does not cause irregular heart beating.  It is a hole in your heart that causes you to have a swishing sound instead of a beating sound when listening to your heartbeat.

  14. depends like your daily activities

    get that checked out

  15. you're dying.
