Do I have insomnia? ?

Well, I'm a fourteen-year-old girl and I have had problems falling asleep for a long time.....

It almost always takes me over an hour to fall asleep after getting to bed (I'd guess around an hour-and-a-half on average), and then I wake up every couple of hours or so throughout the night...

And I always seem to wake up right before my alarm clock goes off...........

I really only get around seven or so hours of sleep when I've given myself enough time to get nine....

I haven't started school yet, so when school starts I'll be getting even less.......Probably around five hours......

  1. Sometimes allergy medication can cause insomnia, depending on what it is. Do you have a t.v on or radio when you go to bed? Any kind of distraction like that can reduce the quality and quantity of sleep. Have you tried taking a nice warm bath right before bed to relax? Just some ideas...good luck with this..hope you can sleep well soon

  2. It's not insomnia. If it were that you wouldn't be albe to get to sleep at all and when you did sleep you would only sleep for a couple minutes. This just sounds like your mind is working all the time and even when your ready for bed it's still working and it takes it a little time to calm down for rest.  Try not to think of anything for  while before bed if that is possible and you should be able to get to sleep faster.

  3. It sounds like you have a lot on your mind? Maybe your too worried about the next day and your brain keeps thinking all your worries, your are stressing? Or maybe your bed sucks?!
