Do I have snakes in my backyard?

There are strange sounds back there. What are snakes supposed to sound like?

  1. Probably one of those bugs ( we used to call them hot bugs)  A snake would not be hissing unless something was bothering it. Next time walk outside and see what it is.


  2. snakes hiss!!!  idk!!!!  maybe rats or chipmunks!!!!

  3. It is most likely cicadas, not snakes. I live in Texas and around sunset, cicadas make a very, very loud buzzing sound. Snakes don't go around hissing for no reason, nor is it real loud.

  5. It sounds like a locust bug. They make a hissing noise. Its not a snake. If it was it was more than likely a bull snake. Which is not poisonous.  

  6. sounds like a cat. but i'm sure there been a snake before in your yard
