I put ice in my scotch

there I said it

the guilt

not an abundance

of ice

plenty of scotch

I am not totally uneducated

I rarely swirl my wine

I almost never smell it

simply to hard

as I pour it down my throat

in guilt

  1. Short and deep. Sounds like someone with an alcohol dependency who is trying to make excuses for what they are doing, but they just can't help it. Hhmm and then there's a mystery to it that makes you want to know more about him/her and what the real issues are. Great poem!!
