Do I have to be a member to drink at a VFW?

I think it may depend on where its located & who runs it.  We had one where I grew up and I remember being in there with my family who weren' members and them getting served and later on when i was 21 being served as well.

a few years back i just walked in the one gainsville ga  and they never said a word and i had a d**n good time

No, but you'll need a member to bring you in.  Or, if you are currently in the military, they may wave that.

Depends on where you are, but generally no, they'll take anyone's money.
