Do I have to be connected to the internet or router box to access my computer for tv movie viewing on XBOX 360

I have a movie on my computer that my and my parents wanted to watch and I can watch it in my room via my 360 because I can I access my computer. but if I plug it to the living room TV can I still access my computer or do I have to be connected to the router.

this probably isnt your fault though.the catagory doesnt specify itself very well .esp. if you say 360 and dont say anything about game.
