  1. AVI's are not readable by most DVD players unless they are a DivX or Xvid player. You would need an application similar to Power Producer to covert those to DVD files.

  2. Total Video2Dvd can help you convert avi movies to dvd simply and directly,

    1. click "New project", add video files, then click "OK"

    2. click "DVD menu", preview dvd menu

    3. click "Output", click "Convert and Burn" start burn DVD.

    a. easily convert avi or other popular video formats(such as youtube flv, mpg, xvid, divx, mp4, 3gp, mkv, rm, rmvb, mov, wmv, ogm, ts etc.) to dvd or ISO image file.

    b. support srt, sub, ssa, ***, smi, psb, tex, idx subtitles

    c. support dvd menu with background music, with a lot of templates

    d. support download youtube and other video share website video, then burn to dvd

    e. support photo slideshow to dvd, more than 300 kinds of effects.

you can download this program FREE:

  3. get a free converter that converts AVI to VOB. VOB is the format that DVD players use.

  4. Most DVD players won't read an .avi file - you need a specific program that burns a disk that will play on TV DVD players. You need to create a VIDEO_TS folder to play the disk on a TV - otherwise it will only play on a computer with a DVD drive, but even then it won't play as a DVD, it will play as a data disk.

Roxario has a lot of easy to use DVD burning software at great prices. Personally I use Toast Titanium, but I'm on a Mac so it might not work if you have a PC.

In a nutshell, you need a program designed to create a TV-playable DVD. Then you can import all types of media and convert them to a VIDEO_TS folder you can burn to the blank DVD. You can also create menu screens and add chapters if you want.

    Good luck!

PS, it can combine your video files into video slideshows with beautiful transition effects and a customizable menu, I think it is a different from other DVD Creators.
