We are leaving Mexico City to return to the UK flying via New York JFK using American Airlines -operated by Mexicana - then connecting with Air India for the second and final leg of the journey. We have excess baggage and weight to be paid for. Will we have to pay another fee when we reach JFK or will our first payment suffice for the complete journey from Mexico to the UK? We've contacted all airlines concerned, but can't get a straight answer from anyone. We also need to know the exact cost of excess baggage/weight - we have a lot of bags! Can anyone help please???? Cheers

  1. bags will be checked through - the first airlines will charge for the checked bags - not air india (the second airline),, u will need to check in again at Ny and take a fresh boardng pass if one is not issued earliuer.  even if one is issued earlier, show it to the AI staff to make sure it is valid - sometimes.. nah manytimes.. they reissue the same

  2. well i just came from new jersey and i need to go to california at first we stopped at north carolina then california.....

so if you pay at first you don't need to pay again....

they're gonna put your baggage in the other airplane going to your destination while waiting for the other flight.....

    so no need to worry.
