Question:

Do I have to do a traditional dance?

I used to take irish dancing class. I forgot some of my dances so I only remember two dances. I remember some parts of the other dances but not the whole thing. I've looked on-line for answers but nothing comes up. I was wandering, could I take some of these moves and make my own dance, or do I have to stick to traditional irish dancing that I've learned? I like practicing the two dances I do now but I get bored with only two. I usually try to do it a lot and sometimes do it in front of my friends, or in public. If I made my own dance would anyone mind? Would anyone know and can I? I'm not going to do it at feis. I just though there are so many types of irish dancing that maybe no one will notice. Thanks!

  1. be very selective and make up your moves as your go along -- differenet is good!!!

  2. Of course you can make your own...that's how new things come about all the time. Plus, most things originate from something else. Go ahead...make it interesting.
