  2. Yes, it is the law that you need a prescription for any kind of contacts even though you don't need any correction.  They have to find the shape and size of your eyes to get the perfect fit.  They might find that you can't wear contacts for some sort of reason.

  3. first you have to check and see if the contacts fit your eyes. if they do you can buy them.

  4. You do need to get your eyes measured for any sort of contact. Everyone has a different curve measurement of their eye. If you were to just go out and buy contacts, they may not fit right and could even severely damage your eye. I don't think they would give you a hard time about just getting your eyes measured at the Optical at WalMart so that you could purchase color contacts though. They normally don't just sell contacts off the shelf, you have to see a professional.

  5. Contacts fit to the shape and size of your eye so even if you do not need a prescription you would still need to have your eyes measured to get the correct fit.  They would also need to check and make sure you don't have any eye conditions that would make it bad for you to wear contacts.

  6. You need an actual eye exam to be fitted for contacts.  If you do not need a prescription, then the dr. will right your prescription like this:

    0 OU

    or

    0

    0

top 0 being your right eye, bottom 0 being your left.

And please do not go to those little shops in a bazaar or something.  They are NOT licensed to sell contacts.

I've worked at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart in the optical department.  As a part of my job, I had to call different places to compare prices.  I have found that Sam's Club sells the cheapest contacts.  You typically do not need a card to shop in that department nor do you need one to see the dr.  I would call your local Sam's to see if it applies to the one in your area.

Also, if you prescribed Fresh Look.  The optical place you go to buy them at should have samples for you try on so that you can see what color you like.
