My best friend is getting married and I'm not her maid of honor but Im standing next to her. They don't have a best man or maid of honor. ( Makes me feel like I wasn't good enough for the title....yeah..thanks..right) She was my maid of honor and gave a speech at my wedding. Do I have to give one at hers? I'm not good at talking in front of peoples.

  1. if she doesn't want you to make one then don't i would ask her what she prefers. i do think you should be the maid of honor, just because he doesn't have a best man doesn't mean she can't have a maid of honor. after all you said you are best friends.

  2. Lady's and Gentleman, hobo's and tramps, cross-eyed

mosquito's and bow legged ants. Sorry that was king Geo's

    speech. <}:-})

  3. Ask her if she wants you to give a speech and let her know you are uncomfortable speaking in front of people. She may not want to hurt your feelings so she may ask you to speak but there are other people that can speak at the wedding. Fathers, the Groom Uncles, Sisters...

Also, it is a priviledge to be in her wedding, not a right because she was in yours. If she didn't give titles who cares, that is to prevent from making other people have hurt feelings. Stop thinking of yourself and remember this is her special day so prove you are her best friend.

  4. Just ask her if you're expected to give a toast at the reception.

I only had two attendants--my two sisters, I didn't declare either of them "maid of honor" so they wouldn't feel like I picked one of them over the other.  I gave them both the option to speak at the reception and only one of them took me up on it.
